I had to share this, was in our local paper today:

Just went grocery shopping.  When I get a weaker pay, I shop at aldi - as much as I love it, I don't like the way I have to go to get there (roadworks, driving further and having to turn back etc).  I DO love the savings, and I love their meat - it's fresher than where I normally go and always good.  Not to mention of course, it halves my shopping bill!! I had a lot of staples in my pantry, so didn't need a lot there, and the bathrooms are stocked.. so basically just needed meat & veggies and a few other bits & pieces.  My total shop today for a fortnight's food $146! Woohoo!!

I also found this toaster oven.. for $20!! It may be pathetic, or it may be ok.. but for $20 it's a bargain, cant' buy a 2nd hand one for that here!  I bought it solely for fimo - my oven has proven to be a failure, so at least I can try this.  I have seen some people on youtube use it successfully - fingers crossed :) Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon LOL

Yay, I made a book!! The last time I did it it was dreadful - scored way too heavily and ended up in all kinds of mess.. well this time it went more smoothly - however I could still refine the art a bit - to look closely, some probably wouldn't use this - but I will!

I also made some little handtowels.. they're glued folded - just a decorative touch :)

The dry sink - didn't come up as planned, I might be pulling it apart and starting over yet.. or just use it somewhere where it won't matter LOL. I managed to get the handles in - that was another fear conquered.. still trying to find a way to bend them down - or just leave them because I quite like them like that! Not finished & lacquered because it may be in pieces again soon ..

A blessing in disguise, most of the time I like to be walking around - but at the moment I'm confined to rest and an elevated leg!! So.. what do we do? This...

I'm working on several projects since I still have 2 more days at home confined to nothingness.. the first one has been going since Friday night - sadly - it's ruggedly put together :( Oh well.. I can refine it.. should have done a bit of sanding to make it fit better.

Also conquering a couple of fears along the way - more tomorrow on that ;-)

Ok So Friday I started on the cold sink.. as you can see it's not perfect, but then again, nothing in MY house is either...

Also working on a bed.  Both of these, of course, are House of Miniatures products scored on eBay.  This one was one I was scared of because of having to use that dreaded drill to make little holes.  I drilled the holes.. then found they were too small for the string.. so had to redrill them.. lots of time and.. again.. imperfect (not perfectly aligned) - but I DID IT!!! 

Plus rounded a few edges.. the bed should be more complete tomorrow.. it's drying atm.. and not sure what I want it to look like when it's finished !

Am going to tackle this book tonight (light permitting) - one of my favorites as a child :)

MOJO returns!

Finally!! Decided to get a couple of kits out - I have a vast collection of "The house of Miniatures" kits to work on :) I LOVE them - they are teaching me SO much - and with all my dremel tools, hopefully in due course, I can design my own furniture and make it :) In the meantime - newbie that I am.. I did do a little this weekend ::

the first thing I needed to do was make friends with the wincy little screwdriver.  My hands don't work as well as they used to :((  Experienced a lot of  feelings of paralysation :( Darn.. arthritis is setting in bigtime now LOL - anyway - we managed to soldier on...

My adorable Dremel Table was Sensational in the makings of this piece!!! I actually used furniture repair pens to colour this too.. I'm SO in love with them! So easy and mess free!

and of course.. my whatever you call those thingumies.. ;-)

So.. this was my biggest struggle :( Tiny stuff, that my hands won't co-operate with.  Took me about 2 hours to get these darn hinges in - but.. VOILA!!!

The almost finished product.. I want to get a coat of laquer onto it now :) I was SOOO proud of myself for completing this, it was realllllly difficult for me.  LOL I hope I'm ok for work tomorrow ;-) *who cares* Oh that little hammer, was to put the knobs into the drawers.  That was a process in itself.. LOL I have a rather warped thumbnail now hahaha!  I love this piece though, will be lovely in one of my bedrooms.. or something :)

Also made another House of Miniatures piece - the chippendale chair.  I didn't like the blue.  Granted, my chair isn't half as pristine as the one in the pic, but it's done.. and I quite like it.  No.. there is no glue on it poking out - the white bits you see in places are actually the pattern on the material LOL (Yes I looked at it critically just for you) - although, my cutting and so on.. could have been much much better - all a learning experience but pretty happy with the outcome.. a few pics just to show each angle and some light :)

Great to be back into it anyway - another project on the go already - and next weekend 'one' of my many houses will be brought out here to the living area to work on and hopefully complete.. and perhaps even put in the doll house show here in July :)

Oh.. ONE more thing..
We have an infestation of moths in our house.  It's gross!! We also have the larvae!!! SOMEHOW - one managed to get into the LID of my tiniest cutter.. HOW? I will never know.. but omg...

A little pinky promise?

Lame attempt at a play on words.  I did work on something.. and I should have 'fixed' a little problem (which you'll notice) before I did it.. but I didn't.. I wanted something PINK!  So here tis.. for a little girls room that is in progress:

A while back I mentioned I'd like to make a little postal outlet.. well I ordered this AGES ago.. (and forgot about it) and it arrived today! I don't think it's 1:12.. but the wonders of reprinting.... could help ;-)

So.. nothing to do with anything, this is part of where I work.. the guy closest to us is one of my bosses.. he is a classic OCD - I had arranged all these tubs 'neatly' and he was redoing them, so I took a pic so I could get it right for him tomorrow (we had a lot of laughs over it) - the guy in the background is scanning parcels awaiting collection.  I work in a mail delivery centre.

That's it for now - but I am working on some more bits and pieces.. just wanted to pacify those who think I've given up.  Been on leave for 2 weeks and I totally relaxed and wasted time.. nothing 'really' wrong with that I guess? ;-)
